Primary objective
Support the operations of NT Health by analysing, monitoring, and reporting on financial systems and budgets in order to maximise core
business outputs for the achievement of strategic goals in accordance with Departmental guidelines.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation and distribution of high-level financial documents and reports.
2. Complete projects and tasks as required by the Director of Financial Development and Reporting.
3. Provide support and advice to stakeholders and other members of NT Health Finance including the provision of financial costings.
4. Conduct analysis on and solve complex financial issues.
5. Assist in the coordination and preparation of monthly forecasting.
6.
Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
order to ensure high quality, protected services and workplaces.
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High level analytical skills, ability to extract and interrogate financial data to analyse variance to budgets and identify the drivers of
that variance.
2. Experience in preparing financial forecasts and modelling.
3. High skill levels and ability to learn to use a range of reporting and analytics software applications including experience using Microsoft
Excel (intermediate level), SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Power BI.
4. Superior communication skills together with an ability to participate and contribute as an effective team member.
5. Ability to manage and deliver work at the required quality within agreed timeframes.
6. Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of accounting and financial principles, practices, and standards.
7. Demonstrated ability to liaise, coach and provide ongoing support to develop stakeholders to have a mutual understanding of financial
management.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant related experience in accounting, business, commerce, or related discipline.
