Harmony House is seeking a bubbly, energetic, reliable, and compassionate Disability Support Worker to support a friendly and fun-loving 17-year-old male participant with cerebral palsy in Chirnside Park, VIC.

Position Details

- Schedule: Every Sunday
- Hours: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM (2 hours per week)
- Engagement Type: Casual Independent Contractor (ABN)
- ABN Requirement: Must have an active and valid Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Gender: Male and female applicants are welcome
- Support Type: Community Access and Social Participation

About the Role

You will be supporting a 17-year-old participant with cerebral palsy to attend his regular Sunday bowling sessions with his community group.

We are looking for someone who is outgoing, enthusiastic, patient, and genuinely enjoys helping others participate in activities they love.

Your role will focus on providing secure, person-centred support while encouraging independence, social interaction, and meaningful community participation.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist and accompany the participant to his regular Sunday bowling sessions.
- Provide appropriate physical assistance and mobility support according to his individual needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction.
- Support meaningful engagement with his community group.
- Create a fun, welcoming, and positive environment.
- Ensure the participant's comfort, dignity, wellbeing, and safety throughout the activity.
- Build a respectful, supportive,



and trusting relationship with the participant.

- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful.
- Passionate about supporting young people living with disabilities.
- Comfortable assisting with community-based activities.
- A confident communicator who enjoys building meaningful connections.
- Available every Sunday from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
- Experienced in disability support or enthusiastic about learning.

Essential Requirements

- Active and valid Australian Business Number (ABN) – Mandatory.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Ability to provide safe, respectful, and person-centred support.
- Reliable availability for the scheduled Sunday shifts.

Highly Desirable:

- Previous experience supporting participants with cerebral palsy or mobility needs.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport.
- Experience supporting community access and social participation.
