Do you have karate experience? Are you looking for a fun, engaging and active way to earn a regular income while developing your skills as an instructor, coach and leader — with the potential to build a rewarding career in karate?
We’re looking for a cheerful, engaging and energetic person to join our instructor team, helping to teach karate classes for children aged 4–104 years.
You’ll initially work alongside and be mentored by our Chief Instructor and experienced instructor team, with a view to progressively taking responsibility for your own classes as your confidence and teaching skills develop.
The role would likely begin with 1–2 afternoons/evenings per week, generally for 4 hours at a time. For the right person, there is significant opportunity to increase your hours and responsibilities over time.
This isn’t necessarily just an afternoon job. For someone who wants to take it further, there is the potential to develop into a long-term role within the Academy and, ultimately, opportunities to lead or run a karate program or club of your own. Alternatively, it can provide a stable and enjoyable source of supplementary income alongside study or another career.
A minimum of 5 years' karate training experience is essential. You’ll also be expected to continue your own karate training with us. Your development will extend beyond karate technique and include structured training in instruction, coaching, leadership and class management.
All instructors receive complimentary karate training as part of their role.
While karate experience is important, we’re particularly interested in finding someone with the right attitude:
reliable, enthusiastic, great with children, willing to learn and committed to becoming an excellent instructor.
If you enjoy karate, like working with young people and would like to develop your skills while being paid to do something you genuinely enjoy, we’d love to hear from you.
