Job Description: Kitchen Porter (KP)Position Title

Reports To

Head Chef / Kitchen Manager

Purpose of the Role

To support the kitchen team by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization, ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and complies with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Hygiene

- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas, floors, walls, and storage areas.
- Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
- Ensure cleaning schedules are completed and documented.

Kitchen Support

- Assist chefs with basic food preparation- front of house and back of house.
- Receive and store deliveries following stock rotation procedures (FIFO).
- Replenish kitchen supplies and consumables.
- Help set up and break down kitchen stations.

Health & Safety

- Follow food safety, hygiene, and WHS procedures at all times.
- Report hazards, equipment faults, or safety concerns immediately.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.

Skills & Experience Essential

- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced environment.
- Good attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods.

Desirable

- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment.

Working Conditions
