Looking for a role where you can work across family and criminal law, take ownership of your matters and be part of a team that genuinely looks out for one another?
This established regional firm is looking for a lawyer to join its close-knit team, working across family and criminal law with some exposure to general litigation. You'll work closely with an experienced Partner, manage your own files and have the support of a collaborative team around you.
You'll handle a varied caseload across family and criminal law, with the opportunity to build on your existing experience and develop your skills across both areas. There will also be some involvement in general litigation, making this a great option for someone who enjoys variety in their work.
The firm is open to candidates who are stronger in one area than the other, provided you're keen to broaden your experience and take on new challenges.
Why consider it?
- A supportive Partner: Work closely with an experienced lawyer who is available to provide guidance when needed.
- A close-knit team: Join a team of around 30 where colleagues collaborate, share referrals and support one another.
- Flexibility around family life: The firm understands that life doesn't always fit neatly around work, with flexibility around school commitments, start times and early finishes where possible.
- Varied legal work:
Develop your experience across family and criminal law, with additional exposure to general litigation.
- A local opportunity: Based in Emerald, this role could suit someone living locally or in the surrounding areas who wants to build their career closer to home.
What you'll bring
You'll ideally have around 3-5 years' experience in family law and/or criminal law, although the firm is open to lawyers from around 3 years' PQE with the right background and willingness to develop.
You'll be comfortable managing your own files, working collaboratively and supporting colleagues when needed. A proactive, down-to-earth approach and a genuine interest in contributing to the team will be important.
The role is office-based initially while you settle in, with some flexibility potentially available once you're established.
If you're a family or criminal lawyer looking for a wide-ranging role with a supportive team and a more personal approach to workplace flexibility, this is a great firm worth exploring!
