About the Position

We're excited to welcome an Assistant Accountant to our Support Hub team. In this important role, you'll contribute to the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of Act for Kids by supporting a broad range of accounting, payroll and financial administration functions. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you'll help ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls and support informed decision-making across the organisation.

- Flexibility working hybrid from our Milton office and from home.
- Full-time, parental leave backfill contract until 31 December 2027.
- Negotiated salary.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support financial excellence by assisting with month-end reporting, reconciliations and the preparation of accurate financial information.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial processing across payroll, accounts receivable, corporate cards and related transactions.
- Maintain solid financial controls through asset management, record keeping, audit readiness and compliance with organisational procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting financial systems, processes and initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

About You

- Tertiary accounting qualification.
- At least one (1) years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in using accounting systems, and current knowledge of accounting standards, principles and practice.
- Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
- Current driver’s licence.
