About the role
Azure Group are seeking an experienced, commercially astute and process-driven Director – Business Accounting to lead, manage and grow our Business Accounting division within our growing accounting practice.

The Business Accounting division is responsible for managing the day-to-day finance functions of a diverse portfolio of clients, delivered by a team of skilled accounting professionals. The services provided extend beyond bookkeeping to include financial reporting, management accounting, payroll, BAS, reconciliations, cash flow management and broader financial control support.

This is a key leadership position with responsibility for the overall performance, quality, efficiency and profitability of the division. You will lead and develop the team, oversee client service delivery, strengthen operational processes and controls, and drive the continued growth of the business

About You
We are looking for someone who combines solid commercial accounting experience, ideally at Financial Controller level, with the leadership capability and commercial mindset to manage a multi-client accounting function.

You will ideally bring:

- Significant commercial accounting experience, including responsibility at Financial Controller level




- Experience within a public practice accounting firm, ideally in business services, outsourced accounting or client finance management.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team of accountants
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, management accounting, payroll, BAS, GST and relevant compliance obligations.
- Proven experience establishing and maintaining accounting processes, documented procedures, internal controls and quality assurance frameworks.
- Experience identifying and implementing opportunities for business growth, client development and service expansion.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the confidence to engage with clients, team members and senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, organised and accountable approach, with the ability to balance strategic leadership with operational oversight.

Relevant accounting qualifications and professional membership, such as CA or CPA, will be highly regarded.
