WHS Advisor job, Brisbane, $150K-$200K + Super. Join a landmark $450M apartment project.

Hays Construction has partnered with a leading builder with an established track record delivering large-scale residential, mixed-use and high-rise developments across Queensland.

With a major apartment project currently under construction, they are seeking an experienced WHS Advisor to join the site-based team and play a key role in maintaining the project's strong safety standards.

Your new role

Reporting to the Project Manager and Senior HSEQ leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the safe delivery of this landmark development while fostering a proactive safety culture across all levels of the project.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Conducting regular site inspections and safety audits
- Facilitating toolbox talks and pre-start meetings
- Monitoring subcontractor safety compliance
- Reviewing SWMS and high-risk work activities
- Investigating incidents, hazards and near misses
- Maintaining site safety records and reporting requirements
- Providing coaching and guidance to site management and subcontractors
- Assisting with return-to-work and injury management processes




- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and company procedures

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will possess:

- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or higher
- Previous experience as a WHS Advisor within the construction sector
- Experience working on commercial, residential or high-rise projects valued at $100M+
- Strong knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to safety
- The ability to build robust relationships across all levels of a project team
