Start your OT career with support, space to learn and a team you’ll enjoy being part of.
Commencing February 2027!
Jelm Allied Health is seeking a new graduate Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, fun and collaborative team in Melbourne’s west.
We support children, teenagers and young adults, predominantly neurodivergent participants, alongside people with psychosocial support needs. Your caseload will develop gradually, with guidance to build your skills and confidence across different ages and areas of practice.
Occupational therapy is at the heart of what we do! We bring our work back to occupation, meaningful participation and the everyday activities that matter to each person. You’ll be supported to connect OT theory with practice and develop your clinical reasoning.
A supported start
Our graduate program provides:
- A comprehensive induction, including two weeks of shadowing and dedicated time to become familiar with assessments and therapy approaches
- Weekly one-to-one supervision for your first three months, then fortnightly, alongside ongoing informal support from the team and lead clinician
- A gradual caseload build-up and protected time for learning and administration
- Support with assessments, session planning, report writing and clinical reasoning
- Career development opportunities and shared team learning
You don’t need to arrive knowing everything. We’re looking for curiosity, a willingness to ask questions and an interest in growing as an occupational therapist.
Variety, connection and meaningful work
Your role will include a mix of clinic-based sessions at our Werribee practice and mobile outreach to homes, schools and community settings.
You’ll get to know participants in their everyday environments and work alongside families, educators and support networks to make therapy practical and meaningful. As your confidence grows, there will be opportunities to explore clinical interests, contribute to group programs and learn from a varied caseload.
A team you can feel comfortable in
We take our work seriously and enjoy having a laugh together. You’ll be joining a team that shares ideas, celebrates progress and makes room for questions. With approachable senior clinicians and strong administrative support, you’ll have people around you as you find your feet.
About you
You’re a recent or soon-to-be OT graduate who:
- Values strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming and person-centred practice
- Enjoys working collaboratively and learning from others
- Is interested in supporting children, youth and young adults
- Wants to build a strong foundation in occupation-focused practice
You’ll need an Occupational Therapy qualification and AHPRA registration before commencing, a Working with Children Check, and a current driver’s licence with access to a reliable vehicle.
Commencing February 2027 — enjoy a summer break after graduation, then begin your OT career with a supported start at Jelm Allied Health.
