A major bank in Sydney is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (Networking) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

- Design deploy, operate, and enhance the software platforms and automation systems that underpin modern network engineering.

- Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and Python.

- Work with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to deliver automation capabilities.

- Transform complex network workflows into scalable, reliable internal tools and services that improve operational efficiency and resilience.

- Collaborate closely with network engineers to understand challenges, develop innovative solutions, and continuously improve how large-scale networks are managed and automated.





- This is a software-first role focused on building robust automation frameworks, platforms, and testing capabilities that support day-to-day network operations.

Key Skills / Experience:

- Expert python experience- experience in code reviews, pull requests, and structured problem-solving.

- Solid hands on ansible - including custom plugins/modules, and familiarity with infrastructure/config-as-code.

- Networking Software Development – Experience building applications in the networking domain.

- Demonstrated strong hands-on software development experience
