About the role

The Leading Hand role plays a critical role in contributing to the success of our projects. The Leading Hand will assist in monitoring progress on site, manages the acceptance of deliveries and participates in safety checks, inspections and daily HSEQ on site.

Key responsibilities

- Work with the Site Manager to monitor safe work method statements and ensure all relevant controls are implemented and monitored in line with the system

- Participate in manual tasks as required completing them to a high standard, setting the expectation for contractors

- Be responsible for the supervision of contractors and deliveries

- Help monitor and maintain implementation of management system requirements

- Assist with site administration tasks such as a site diary to catalogue events and progress

- Undertake site-based tasks to progress the project

- Facilitate site inductions, toolbox talks and other management activities as directed by the Site Manager

- Respond to and report on hazards, near misses and incidents

- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all stools and equipment when not in use and securing the job site on a daily basis





- Drive overall site cleanliness and lead by example maintaining site presentation

About you

- General Construction Induction Training (White Card) & Driver's licence

- Trade background or knowledge within the construction industry

- Prior experience in a similar role highly regarded

- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn

- Adaptability to travel out of town on remote work sites
