The role's key focus is operational planning and execution.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead the operational planning and execution of the Club's Business Connect events and events held at the Bruce Gordon Centre.
- Develop and execute event operating plans, run sheets and bump in/out schedules for event day contractors.
- Coordinate operational requirements across all stakeholder groups and internal teams, including transport, set-up and pack down at Club 'events'.
- Provide operational support for game-day corporate hospitality and sponsor activations, making sure branding and sponsor requirements are delivered in line with venue policies.
- Assist with the operational management of the hype squad, club mascot and charity raffle programs.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring all 'events' comply with industry standards,
venue requirements and relevant legislation.
- Track event spending against budget, assist with reconciliation, and deliver post-event reports covering attendance, feedback and financial summaries with key findings to be applied in future event planning.
- Build positive relationships with venue contacts, contractors and industry peers.
Your qualifications, skills and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in event or sport management are desirable, but more important is a proven ability to deliver sports events that fans love.
- At least 1 – 2 years’ experience in similar role with demonstrated success.
- Experience in implementing event documentation such as run sheets and schedules.
- Proven experience in effectively managing a team consisting of volunteers and contractors.
- Ability to develop, manage and report on event budgets.
- High level customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.
- Display sound decision-making skills to solve problems and conflicts effectively whilst remaining calm under pressure.
- Competence in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
