About the role

Distinct Landscapes is seeking a Garden Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic team in Sydney. This is a full-time or casual role where you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the outdoor spaces we manage for our valued clients. As a Garden Maintenance Assistant, you will support our experienced Horticulturists in delivering high-quality garden maintenance services, contributing to the visual appeal and health of residential and commercial properties throughout Sydney.

Key responsibilities

- Assist with regular garden maintenance tasks including weeding, pruning, hedge trimming and lawn care

- Help prepare garden beds and plant new vegetation under supervision

- Operate and maintain hand tools and small landscaping equipment safely and effectively

- Remove garden waste and debris, ensuring sites are left clean and tidy

- Support the application of fertilisers, mulches and other garden treatments

- Assist in clearing and maintaining pathways, driveways and garden borders

- Work collaboratively with senior landscapers and follow instructions to ensure quality standards

- Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate excellent customer service when interacting with clients

- Adhere to health and safety protocols and company policies at all times

What we're looking for

- A genuine interest in gardening and landscaping with a willingness to learn and develop skills

- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions

- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to take direction from experienced staff members

- Reliable, punctual and professional attitude with strong work ethic





- Basic knowledge of plants, gardening tools and maintenance practices (preferred but not essential)

- Valid driver's licence and own transport (desirable)

- Current or willingness to obtain relevant health and safety certifications

- Ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with clients
