About the role

In the Permanent Part Time General Practice Nurse role, you will be required to provide quality patient care:

- Assisting the medical practitioners in delivering medical services, patient triage, acute illness care, assistance with minor surgical procedures, health assessments, chronic disease management,



child and adult immunisation, wound care, cannulation for iron infusion etc.

- Daily coordination of the treatment room including sterilisation, general maintenance and care of medical instruments and equipment, cold chain management and stock ordering and maintaining.

- Identifying & contributing to the development of patient educational needs

- Implementing and practicing infection control

- Patient recall management

Hours

Initially the position is for 3 days per week. There may be the opportunity to increase hours with negotiation.

Skills and experience

The successful applicant will have:

- Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration

- Experience in childhood vaccination and current vaccination certificate

- Excellent communication skills

- A caring and collaborative approach to patient care

- Ability to work autonomously and as part of the medical team

- Previous General Practice Nursing experience (highly desirable)

- Experience using Best Practice clinical software (highly desirable)
