To provide support to the reticulation team whilst undertaking learning and training to achieve the Plumber and Drainer qualification.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake plumbing and labouring duties as appropriate with skills and training
Assist with the diagnosis and repair of plumbing and pipeline problems
Assist with the construction and installation of water and sewer assets to the approved standards
Assist with municipal swimming pool maintenance as required
Assist with the maintenance or Water and Sewerage Treatment Plants
Complete job cards and other paperwork as required
Participate in training, both at TAFE and on the job
Maintain an appropriate record of training in line with the requirements of the apprenticeship




Undertake routine administrative tasks as required by the position eg. timesheets
Assist senior staff to continuously improve work processes and develop current practices as required
Participate in training, exercises and response to disaster management and recovery as required
Undertake other relevant duties as directed, consistent with skills, competence and training.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND LICENCE REQUIREMENTS

Compulsory
Willingness and ability to obtain Certificate III in Plumbing
A pass in year 10 English and Maths
Hold and maintain a current class ‘C’ manual driver’s licence (or actively work toward attaining one when eligible)
Construction Induction White Card
Queensland C class manual drivers licence (minimum requirement – provisional licence)

ABILITIES, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Compulsory
Sound level of oral, numeric and written communication skills
Basic computer and keyboard skills
Ability to work effectively in both a team setting and independently
Knowledge of and commitment to EEO and WHS principles and practices.
