Living with diabetes can sometimes feel like nobody quite understands the reality behind the diagnosis.

The NSW Diabetes Lions Club is bringing together people across NSW who want to change that.

You might live with Type 1, Type 2, gestational or another form of diabetes. You might be a parent, partner, family member or carer.

Or you may simply care deeply about improving the lives of people affected by diabetes.

We want to create a community where people can belong, share their experience and help turn that experience into practical service.

What would have made your diabetes journey easier? Where are the gaps? What support is missing? What could we do together that would genuinely help someone else?

Because this is a new club, the people who become involved now will have a genuine opportunity to help shape the projects and priorities that come next.

Participation will be adaptable and available to people across NSW.

You don't need previous Lions experience, and expressing interest does not commit you to becoming a member.

Start with a conversation or a few hours when it suits you. There is no requirement to attend every meeting or activity. The NSW Diabetes Lions Club is being developed as a adaptable statewide hybrid club, with opportunities to participate online and in person. If you enjoy being involved, there will be opportunities to contribute again or explore Lions membership.

Training
No previous Lions experience is required. We will provide a friendly introduction to the club and explain anything you need to know. Additional Lions orientation, mentoring and training prospects will be available for people who become more involved.
