About Our Client

An prospect is available for an experienced Finance Officer to join a respected Queensland Government organisation in Brisbane CBD.

Working within a close-knit finance team, this role offers a mix of financial reporting, reconciliations, analysis and operational finance support. While there is some transactional activity, this is not a high-volume AP role. We're looking for someone who enjoys investigating variances, understanding financial trends and contributing to sound financial decision-making.

Job Description
Prepare and review financial reconciliations
Support month-end and reporting activities
Analyse financial data and investigate variances
Assist with financial management of electoral and other business events
Process supplier requisitions and provide limited AP support
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures




Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding financial matters
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and financial controls

The Successful Applicant
Experience in a finance, accounting or financial reporting position
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
Ability to identify issues, investigate anomalies and challenge unexpected results
Experience using SAP ECC6 or S/4HANA will be highly regarded
Previous Queensland Government or broader public sector experience is desirable
Robust attention to detail and communication skills
Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment
