An established and successful organisation operating within the commodities and agribusiness sector is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team on a long-term fixed-term basis through to Mid-****.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking to join a commercially focused business with exposure across financial reporting, compliance, treasury and continuous improvement.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across the business.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical accounting capability, attention to detail and the confidence to work autonomously.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparation and analysis of financial records and month-end reporting
Reconciliation of financial systems and investigation and resolution of discrepancies
Preparation of statutory financial information and supporting workpapers
Supporting General Purpose Financial Statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards
Managing compliance reporting including BAS, FBT and other regulatory requirements
Supporting FX exposure management and treasury-related activities
Maintaining and improving finance, compliance and regulatory procedures
Contributing to continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes
Supporting system implementations and regional finance initiatives
Assisting with ad hoc finance projects and broader operational finance requirements




The position provides exposure to senior management and a trading setting, with a strong blend of technical accounting and commercial finance responsibilities.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Accountant who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and managing competing deadlines.
You will ideally bring:
CA or CPA qualification (ideal but not essential)
2+ years' of commercial accounting experience
Robust knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting
Good understanding of Australian taxation requirements
Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving capability
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
