Brighton, South Australia ****, AustraliaFull-time Permanent > 3 years experienceDescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team.This newly created position is ideal for a senior veterinary nurse who enjoys mentoring others, leading by example, and contributing to a positive and efficient clinic environment while still remaining hands‐on within the nursing team.This role is available as a permanent part‐time position (33 hours per week) or may be offered as a full‐time position for the right candidate.To be considered for this role, applicants must:Have completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary NursingHave more than 5 years of veterinary nursing experienceHave formal or informal leadership experience within a veterinary clinic environmentAbout the RoleAs Head Veterinary Nurse, you will play an significant role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the clinic and assisting with the development of the nursing team.




This is a hands‐on position that requires confidence across all areas of veterinary nursing.Key responsibilities include:Supporting and mentoring the nursing teamAssisting with staff training and onboardingMaintaining high standards of patient care and clinic workflowWorking collaboratively with the veterinary and management teamSurgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoringNurse consulting and client communicationReception duties where requiredNon‐Negotiable RequirementsApplicants must be willing and able to:Participate fully in the nursing rosterWork at least one late night per weekParticipate in the weekend rosterConfidently cover all areas of the nursing roster, including:- Reception- Nurse consulting- Surgical and hospital nursingTrain and support other team membersWe are looking for someone who can show initiative, communicate confidently, work well in a busy environment, and contribute positively to team culture.This role offers the opportunity to further develop your leadership skills, with ongoing support for career development and growth within the position.Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
