Bring your government budgeting expertise to a role supporting Commonwealth Budget processes, capital planning and strategic financial advice.
Working within a collaborative finance team, you will coordinate budget deliverables and provide guidance to stakeholders on complex financial matters.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading external and capital budget processes, including maintaining budget information inCBMS.
Providing advice onNew Policy Proposal (NPP) costingsand financial justifications.
CoordinatingPortfolio Budget Statements (PBS)andPortfolio Additional Estimates Statements (PAES).
Supporting capital budgeting and the development ofCapital Management Plans.
Managing Actuals reporting and coordinating responses to Estimates Memoranda.
Preparing financial advice, briefs, ministerial submissions and Senate Estimates documentation.
Improving budgeting systems, policies and procedures, and delivering training to stakeholders.
About you
To be successful, you will bring:
A degree in Accounting, Commerce,



Business or a related discipline.
CA or CPA qualifications, completed or underway, or equivalent relevant finance experience.
Demonstrated experience in external budgeting, financial planning or budget management.
A robust understanding of the Australian Government financial framework and Commonwealth Budget processes.
Experience withCBMSand advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Experience preparing accurate financial reports, briefs and budget documentation.
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities within a collaborative team.
$***** per hour + 12% superannuation.
Assignment through to31 August ****, with potential extension subject to organisational requirements.
Canberra CBD location.
