Financial Accountant – Capital & Assets.Permanent Full Time | PerthSOR$115,000 - $135,000 + SuperAn excellent opportunity for an experienced Asset Accountant to join an established organisation and take ownership of the accuracy, integrity and compliance of its financial asset records.Reporting to a senior member of the finance team, you'll support asset accounting, capital projects, statutory reporting, audit and asset valuations, while partnering with stakeholders across the organisation.The RoleMaintain accurate and compliant asset registers and financial asset recordsProcess asset additions, capitalisations, transfers, disposals, write-offs, depreciation, impairment and revaluationsReconcile asset registers, capital work in progress (CWIP) and balance sheet accounts to the general ledgerMonitor capital projects and ensure correct classification of capital and operating expenditureWork with project managers and asset custodians to identify completed assets and capitalisation requirementsSupport capital expenditure reporting and monitor project progressCoordinate month-end and year-end journals, reconciliations,



financial statement notes and audit schedulesSupport asset valuations and revaluationsProvide practical asset accounting advice to stakeholdersSupport internal and external auditsImprove asset data quality, financial controls, policies, processes and reportingStep into more senior financial accounting responsibilities when requiredAbout YouTertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related disciplineDemonstrated experience across asset registers, capitalisation, depreciation, disposals, reconciliations and CWIPSound knowledge of accounting standards relating to property, plant, equipment and infrastructure assetsExperience developing and improving accounting policies, procedures, processes and controlsStrong analytical, problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to coordinate year-end, audit and valuation requirementsCurrent National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain oneHighly RegardedCPA, CA or equivalent membership, or working towards qualificationLocal government or public sector experienceTechnologyOne or another integrated financial and asset management systemExperience supporting asset valuations, revaluations and annual financial reportingThis is a permanent full time opportunity offering broad exposure across asset accounting, capital projects, financial reporting and continuous improvement.
