You'll be responsible for the fabrication, modification and assembly of sheet metal components used in the manufacture of electrical switchboards – working to engineering drawings with precision, efficiency and a solid eye for quality.What You'll Be DoingManufacture and assemble sheet metal enclosures, panels, brackets and related components to engineering drawings and job specificationsOperate fabrication equipment including guillotines, press brakes and fibre laserPerform accurate cutting, folding, punching and fitting of sheet metal materialsFit off hardware, gland plates, hinges, locks and other switchboard accessoriesCarry out welding,



grinding and finishing to a high-quality standardCheck and verify components for dimensional accuracy and finish quality against Australian StandardsWork closely with the electrical workshop and office teams to hit production goalsHelp train and mentor apprentices and new team membersKeep the workshop clean, organised and safe, and take part in toolbox talksWhat We're Looking ForCertificate III in Engineering – Sheet Metal Trade, or equivalent qualificationProven experience in sheet metal fabricationProficiency with fabrication machinery (press brake, guillotine) and welding equipmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication detailsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipGood communication and teamwork skills, and a solid understanding of WHS requirementsNice to have:Experience in a switchboard or electrical manufacturing environmentExperience working with aluminiumWhat's On OfferCompetitive hourly rate of $35–$42, negotiable based on experienceA supportive, close-knit team and a great workplace cultureOpportunities to develop your skills and mentor othersSteady, ongoing work with a well-established local manufacturer
