We are looking for someone who is patient, understanding and confident providing practical support while encouraging independence and participation.The successful worker will ideally be available between 9:00am and 3:00pm, with flexibility across the week.
As support is required 7 days a week, being flexible with days and availability will be highly regarded.About the role As a Disability Support Worker, your responsibilities may include:Providing personalised, respectful and consistent supportSupporting community access and social activitiesAttending medical and other appointmentsSupporting participation in hydrotherapy, including being comfortable getting into the waterGoing for walks and encouraging an active lifestyleAssisting with meal preparationSupporting with general household domestic tasksHelping maintain a safe and comfortable home environmentEncouraging independence and participation in everyday activitiesSupporting routines and helping the client achieve their personal goalsBuilding a positive and trusting professional relationshipProviding support in a calm, patient and respectful mannerThe successful worker will need to be comfortable working in a home environment where smoking and hoarding are present, and approach these circumstances with professionalism,
