The Computer Network and Systems Engineer is a Level 1/Level 2 technical role within Sharp EIT's IT Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment, responsible for supporting, administering and maintaining client network and systems infrastructure across multiple managed environments.
This role plays an important part in keeping client networks, servers, cloud services and end-user environments secure, stable and performing to agreed service levels.
The position provides hands‐on technical support to clients via the service desk, assists with infrastructure projects and onboarding activities, and escalates complex or unresolved issues to senior engineers.
It requires solid technical fundamentals, solid customer service, clear communication and the ability to operate effectively in a fast‐paced, SLA‐driven MSP environment.Key responsibilitiesAssist with the deployment, configuration and maintenance of client LAN, WAN, Wi‐Fi and VPN environments, including firewalls, routers, switches and wireless access pointsSupport network configuration tasks such as VLANs, DHCP, DNS and site‐to‐site and remote‐access VPN connectivity under the guidance of senior engineersLiaise with ISPs and carriers on service faults, provisioning and restoration, and keep clients informed of progressMonitor network availability and performance using monitoring tools, and raise or action alerts promptlyProvide support for Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file and print servicesAssist with the administration of virtualised environments (e.g. Hyper‐V, VMware), including routine patching and health checksSupport Microsoft 365 tenants, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online,
