They support critical transformation programs involving modern applications, distributed systems, APIs, and high-volume transaction platforms.About the End ClientYou will be working within a major financial services setting, supporting the quality and performance of business‐critical card payment and financial transaction systems.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Card Payments Test Analyst with strong knowledge of the card payments domain and payment transaction lifecycle.The successful candidate will be responsible for testing applications that process card payments and financial transactions, including validating financial messages, APIs, database records, and end‐to‐end transaction flows.In addition to functional testing, the position requires experience executing performance tests, analysing results, identifying system bottlenecks, and producing clear performance testing reports and recommendations.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, and execute testing across card payment and financial transaction systemsValidate end‐to‐end payment transaction flows across integrated applicationsInterpret and validate financial messages throughout the transaction lifecycleConfirm that financial transactions are processed accurately across applications and downstream systemsTest APIs and integrations within distributed system environmentsPerform SQL queries and database validations to confirm transaction accuracy and data integrityDevelop and maintain functional, integration, system, regression, and performance test scenariosExecute performance tests using LoadRunner or equivalent performance testing toolsMonitor test execution and analyse performance results, response times, throughput, and system behaviourIdentify performance trends, constraints, bottlenecks,



and potential system issuesPrepare performance test reports documenting results, observations, risks, and recommendationsRecord, manage, and retest defects through to resolutionWork closely with developers, business analysts, product teams, and other technical stakeholdersContribute to test planning, test estimation, risk management, and quality assurance activitiesEnsure testing aligns with project requirements, quality standards, and delivery timelinesRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong understanding of the card payments domainGood knowledge of the payment transaction lifecycleExperience testing applications involving payment processing or financial transaction systemsStrong understanding of financial transactions and transaction processingAbility to interpret and validate financial message structuresExperience validating message content, transaction status, and end‐to‐end processing outcomesHands‐on experience testing APIs and distributed systemsStrong SQL skills and experience performing database and backend validationsExperience developing and executing detailed test cases and test scenariosUnderstanding of integration, system, regression, and end‐to‐end testingStrong analytical and problem‐solving skillsAbility to investigate defects across multiple applications and integrated systemsClear written and verbal communication skillsExperience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary delivery teamsPerformance Testing ExperienceGood understanding of performance testing concepts, methodologies, and testing approachesExperience executing performance tests using LoadRunner or an equivalent toolAbility to analyse performance test results and identify trends, bottlenecks, constraints, and system issuesExperience reviewing system performance against expected response times and transaction volumesAbility to clearly document performance test results, findings, and observationsExperience preparing professional performance testing reportsAbility to provide practical recommendations based on performance testing outcomes
