ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Leading Hand Diesel Fitter will coordinate and participate in the maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs of underground mobile mining equipment while providing day-to-day leadership to the maintenance team.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and supervising a team of maintenance personnelPerforming scheduled and breakdown maintenance on Sandvik underground equipmentDiagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, and auto electrical faultsCoordinating daily maintenance activities to minimise equipment downtimeEnsuring all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standardProviding technical guidance and mentoring to tradespeople and apprenticesMaintaining accurate maintenance records and documentationContributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance departmentPromoting and maintaining Redpath's strong safety culture
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Australian recognised Trade Qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or equivalentPrevious experience as a Leading Hand, Senior Diesel Fitter, or Supervisory Tradesperson within underground miningStrong experience maintaining Sandvik underground mobile equipmentProven fault-finding and diagnostic skills across heavy mobile plantSound understanding of underground mining operationsStrong leadership, communication, and team management skillsCurrent Australian driver's licenceAbility to work effectively within a ***** roster arrangementCommitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence

Underground mining experienceHR Driver's LicenceHigh Risk Work LicencesWorking at Heights certificationConfined Space Entry certificationFirst Aid qualifications
