About the RoleAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our Caroona Feedlot team in a full-time capacity.
Reporting to the Feedlot Manager, you will work closely with the site leadership and operational teams to drive continuous improvement in workplace health and safety and strengthen a positive, proactive safety culture across the site.You will provide practical WHS advice, coaching and support to leaders and employees, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and JBS safety requirements.
Your role will oversee the effective implementation of the JBS Safety Management System and key site safety activities, including hazard identification and control, incident investigations, safety inspections, contractor management, emergency preparedness and WHS reporting.A key focus of the role will be building safety capability across the site.
You will lead the WHS Committee, promote consultation and communication, and coach leaders and team members to ensure safety is embedded in everyday operations.
You will also support employee health and wellbeing initiatives and identify opportunities to continuously improve WHS systems, practices and overall site safety performance.About YouDemonstrated WHS experience, with sound knowledge of interpreting and applying workplace health and safety legislationConfidence providing practical WHS advice, coaching and support to leaders and employeesCertificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent is desirableExperience within an intensive agricultural, feedlot, farming or similar operational environment is highly regardedStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levelsA practical,

With a licensed capacity of 28,000 head, access to an extensive network of quality cattle and ideally placed between the Riverina & Beef City plants, Caroona is a vital asset in the supply of grain fed cattle for both the JBS Queensland and New South Wales based processing facilities.
The farm supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.
