This is an excellent opportunity for a technically robust engineer to take on a senior role across structural design, project delivery, technical leadership and client engagement.The Senior Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and delivery of industrial and commercial projects, with a robust focus on structural steel structures, reinforced concrete elements and precast concrete.
You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from concept and tender design through to detailed design and construction support.
The role will involve coordinating engineering activities with drafters and project teams, liaising with architects, builders, fabricators and consultants, and providing technical advice throughout project delivery.
The role will suit an experienced Structural Engineer with strong design capabilities, sound knowledge of Australian Standards and the NCC, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders while providing technical leadership and maintaining strong client relationships.Years of experience: 5 years to 20yrs +Responsibilities include but not limited to:Undertake concept, tender and detailed structural designDesign structural steel,



reinforced concrete and precast concrete elementsPrepare design details and documentation for draftersPrepare engineering reports where requiredDevelop practical, economical and buildable design solutionsReview and check own designs prior to issueCheck and verify engineering work completed by other engineersUndertake peer reviews and independent design reviewsEnsure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements, project requirements and company QA proceduresDeliver projects to agreed scope, programme and budgetCoordinate engineering activities with drafters and project teamsLiaise with architects, builders, fabricators, panel suppliers and other consultantsAttend project meetings and facilitate technical coordinationDevelop and maintain strong client relationshipsAttend client meetings and present engineering solutionsProvide timely technical advice throughout project deliveryUndertake site inspections and structural assessmentsCarry out steelwork and bolt inspectionsRespond to RFIs and contractor queriesReview shop drawings and construction submissionsAssist with defect investigations and remedial design where requiredQualifications and Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringMinimum 5 years' experience in a similar structural engineering roleExperience designing structural steel, reinforced concrete and precast structuresStrong understanding of Australian Standards and the NCCProficient in structural analysis and design softwareStrong technical design and engineering capabilitiesExperience coordinating multiple projects and stakeholders concurrentlyStrong communication, leadership and problem-solving skillsStrong client and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work both autonomously and as part of a teamHigh level of attention to detail and commitment to qualityStrong understanding of project delivery, budgets and programmesThis is a permanent full-time position providing a great opportunity to work with a successful and growing organisation who offer challenging work and the potential for career progression.
