Position Description:n
Security Requirements: Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance are required.
n CGI is continuing to invest in the growth of our Space, Defence & Intelligence business across Australia.
n As part of that growth, we're expanding our permanent Software & Digital Engineering capability and looking to connect with experienced Software Developers and Senior Software Developers to support upcoming Defence digital delivery opportunities in Canberra.
n We're particularly interested in professionals with experience developing, enhancing and sustaining enterprise web applications using Angular, TypeScript and modern full-stack technologies.
n These opportunities are expected to involve the ongoing development, modernisation and sustainment of secure applications supporting Defence operations, including application integration, technical uplift, feature enhancement and cyber security improvements.
n This is an Expression of Interest for permanent employment opportunities, rather than recruitment for a single confirmed vacancy. Some candidates may align with immediate opportunities, while others may be considered as new projects commence. Your future duties and
responsibilities:n
As part of CGI's Software & Digital Engineering team, you'll help design, develop, enhance and sustain secure enterprise web applications supporting Defence and National Security outcomes.
n Depending on your experience and the project you join, you may be involved in:
n • Full-stack software development using Angular, TypeScript and associated web technologies.
n • Development and enhancement of enterprise web applications and user interfaces.
n • Backend development, API design and systems integration.
n • Application maintenance, remediation and ongoing sustainment.
n • Modernisation and technical uplift of existing applications.
n • Implementation of secure software development practices.
n • Identification and remediation of application vulnerabilities.
n • DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and development automation.
n • Unit testing, integration testing and automated quality assurance.
n • Working within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
n • Technical documentation, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
n Senior Developers may also provide technical leadership, support solution design,



mentor other developers and contribute to architectural and engineering decisions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:n
We're interested in hearing from Software Developers with experience in the design, development and sustainment of enterprise web applications.
Key skills and experience:
n • Commercial experience developing applications using Angular and TypeScript.
n • Full-stack software development experience, including frontend and backend technologies.
n • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and web services.
n • Understanding of up-to-date enterprise application architectures.
n • Experience with software testing, debugging and performance optimisation.
n • Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
n • Experience working within Agile software delivery teams.
n • Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
n The following would also be highly regarded:
n • Experience delivering software capability within Defence, Defence Industry or National Security environments.
n • Experience working within secure or classified environments.
n • Experience with DevSecOps, application security and vulnerability remediation.
n • Experience modernising or sustaining complex enterprise applications.
n • Exposure to data integration, migration or transformation activities.
n • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
n • Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring other developers.
n We're open to candidates at different experience levels, including mid-level and senior developers.
n These are permanent, full-time positions based primarily in Canberra, with adaptable working arrangements subject to client and project requirements.
