Senior Business Services Accountant / Client Manager

is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Business Services Accountant or Client Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of small-business and family-group clients.
We are a small, modern accounting practice based in Sutherland. Our clients value direct access to their accountant, responsive service and clear explanations in plain English.
This is an opportunity to manage clients directly, take responsibility for work from commencement to completion and join a practice that genuinely embraces cloud technology, responsible use of AI and better ways of working.
The role
You will:
Manage an allocated portfolio of business and individual clients
Act as the primary day-to-day contact for those clients
Prepare company, trust and partnership financial statements and tax returns
Prepare more complex individual tax returns
Handle BAS, IAS, tax planning and other compliance work
Manage workflow, deadlines and client-information follow-up
Explain results and tax outcomes clearly to business owners
Produce complete, accurate and review-ready files
Resolve routine matters and elevate complex issues appropriately
Contribute to improvements in systems, workpapers and processes
You will work closely with our Senior Accountant as the primary reviewer for routine work, with Partner support available for complex, high-risk and strategic matters.
About you
You will ideally have:
Senior Accountant or Client Manager capability
Experience with companies,



trusts, partnerships and individuals
Advanced Xero skills and strong Xero Tax experience
Confidence working directly with business owners
Strong written and spoken communication
Sound technical judgement and personal organisation
A reliable and accountable approach to progressing work
An interest in technology, AI, automation and continuous improvement
CA, CPA or IPA qualification is preferred, although substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
