The Systems Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Social Services Regulator (SSR) towards data driven decision making and the delivery of robust systems, enabling our strategic direction and operational service delivery priorities.
SSR uses a risk-based intelligence led approach to protect the safety and rights of children, young people and adults experiencing vulnerability. The Systems Analyst will be responsible for improving data quality and systems processes of all our core applications.
This role is fast paced, requires solid attention to detail and forms part of the larger ICT and Business Intelligence Branch and will contribute to key functions designed to:
Design new systems or modify existing systems to meet business requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to SSR core systems
Ensure systems are efficient, reliable, meet expectations and are secure
We are looking for someone who can:
Identify, investigate, and analyse business processes, procedures and work practices




Identifies and evaluates inefficiencies and recommends optimal business practices, and system functionality and behaviour
Uses project management methodologies, principles and techniques to develop project plans and to cost, resource and manage projects
Takes responsibility for deploying functional solutions, such as creating, adopting and implementing system test plans, which ensures acceptable quality and integrity of the system
Creates user and trainer documentation, and conducts formal training classes
Develops functional specifications for use by system developers
Uses data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for the design and development of system software
Acts as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the system project decision making process
