About the Role
Gippsland Grammar is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the Finance team and manage the school's financial reporting, compliance and strategic planning. Reporting to the Business Manager, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations, work with the Principal and stakeholders to foster a culture of exceptional customer service, and support the school's commitment to being an employer of choice in Gippsland.
Duties
Lead and manage the Finance team, including induction, development and performance management
Maintain the school's general ledger, chart of accounts and cost centres, delivering accurate financial reporting
Collate management reports and work with external auditors to produce unqualified Financial Reports
Develop the annual budget with the Business Manager and support cost centre owners in managing their budgets
Oversee payroll accuracy, BAS returns, PAYG, FBT and superannuation compliance
Implement strategic initiatives to improve fee collection and support the school's relationship with families
Work with staff to improve financial literacy and help departments manage expenditure within the school's strategic objectives
Uphold the school's commitment to ethical business practices and fraud prevention




Essential Criteria
Strong financial management expertise with experience leading a finance team
Knowledge of school or not-for-profit accounting and compliance requirements
Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills
Commitment to customer service and continuous improvement
