The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in all the general duties and responsibilities of a skilled Fitter (General) including fitting, assembling, maintaining and repairing mechanical plant and machinery, reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, and maintaining a clean and protected workshop in line with WHS requirements.
Position : Fitter Salary : $88,000 plus superannuation Employment Type : Full-time (minimum 38 hours per week) Location : Sunshine West, VIC **** Benefits Full-time, ongoing position with long-term career stability Paid annual leave, personal leave and public holidays under the National Employment Standards Supplied PPE, uniforms and safety equipment Access to well-maintained tools, equipment and workshop facilities Ongoing training and upskilling, including licences and tickets where required Supportive, safety-focused team environment Task & responsibilities Studying engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements and work sequences Fitting and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to build or fabricate production machines and other mechanical equipment Setting up, adjusting and operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drills and grinders to shape and finish parts Installing, aligning and levelling machinery and equipment on site Examining and testing installed machinery and equipment to detect faults and malfunctions Dismantling machines and equipment to remove worn or defective parts for repair or replacement Repairing, replacing and reconditioning worn or defective components, including bearings, seals, shafts,



gears and drives Testing fitted and assembled parts and equipment to confirm correct operation, dimensions and tolerances Carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance and keeping maintenance records Measuring and marking out materials using precision measuring instruments Performing welding, cutting and fabrication tasks as required to support fitting and repair work Working in line with WHS procedures, safe work practices and company quality standards, and keeping the workshop clean and safe Qualification & experience AQF Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or an equivalent overseas trade qualification recognised in Australia Alternatively, at least 2 years of relevant work experience in place of the formal qualification, in line with ANZSCO Skill Level Proven experience fitting, assembling, maintaining and repairing mechanical plant, machinery and equipment Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications Experience operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drills and grinders Experience diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out preventive maintenance About Company ALLIED INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES PTY LTD (ABN **************) is an Australian business based in Sunshine West, VIC **** that supplies industrial products, equipment and technical services to customers across the manufacturing, construction, mining and engineering sectors.
