Morris provides commercial finance to clients introduced via a national accredited finance broker network. The Senior Credit Management Officer is a senior member of the Morris's collections department, responsible for managing complex and higher-risk credit management matters while actively supporting the team's general day-to-day collection activities. The role's focus is on astute, commercial and qualified management of delinquent and complex client matters, including direct engagement with clients and liaison with external parties such as mercantile agencies, solicitors, creditors, administrators, executors, trustees and government bodies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
Take primary responsibility for allocated complex, sensitive and higher-risk collection matters, applying sound commercial judgement and developing and recommending appropriate recovery strategies, in consultation with the General Manager - Credit Management.
Undertake general day-to-day collection activities as required, including monitoring dishonours, issuing arrears correspondence, negotiating repayment arrangements, lodging security caveats, initiating asset recovery actions, conducting skip tracing, checking PPSR details and communicating directly with clients.
Maintain day-to-day ownership of an assigned arrears and recovery portfolio, which will typically involve more complex issues, and ensuring matters progress appropriately through all stages of the collections lifecycle and are actioned in accordance with internal standards and agreed timeframes.




Professionally and respectfully liaise with clients and third parties involved in collection activities, including customers experiencing repayment difficulty, with an appropriate balance of commercial focus, sound judgement and customer care.
Provide practical support and technical guidance to Credit Management Officers, including process training, knowledge sharing and support with complex matters.
Manage allocated legal recovery matters, including liaising with external legal practitioners, monitoring progress and costs, maintaining accurate records and promptly escalating material risks, strategic decisions and matters requiring additional authority.
Coordinate and manage allocated insolvency-related matters, including bankruptcy, liquidation, administration and other insolvency events, under the direction of the General Manager - Credit Management.
Support the General Manager - Credit Management by monitoring team dishonours, outstanding actions and recovery activity, identifying unattended matters, emerging risks and workflow bottlenecks and providing recommended priorities or workload adjustments for the General Manager's consideration.
Contribute proactively to the review and continuous improvement of credit management procedures, controls, templates and workflows,



including identifying recurring issues, operational risks and opportunities to improve recovery outcomes and customer experience.
Ensure all relevant internal systems, databases, file records, complaint records and checklists are current, complete and accurate for own allocated matters, and support consistent record-keeping standards across the team.
What we're looking for:
Demonstrated senior credit control and collections experience is essential, including managing complex, sensitive or higher-risk collection matters.
Asset finance or commercial finance collections experience is highly desired.
Experience in complaint investigation and resolution, including exposure to AFCA matters, is highly desired.
