FEMALE ONLY Experienced Disability Support Workers- SunburyK'S Disability Care is seeking experienced Female Disability Support Workers to join our team in Sunbury, VIC.
This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them to live as independently as possible and participate fully in their communities.
This role is fundamental to our mission of delivering compassionate, person-centred care that respects the dignity and autonomy of every individual we support.
The successful applicant will provide support within the participant's home and community.
The support workers must be comfortable working with animals in the home especially the family dogs.Key responsibilitiesProvide in-home support and trauma informed care to participants in the Sunbury areaSupport within the participant's home and communityCommunity access and daily activitiesSupport for community mobility and transportFollow strict environmental and chemical restrictionsRecognise early signs of escalation and provide de-escalation supportCommunicate calmly and clearlyProvide consistent, person-centred supportFollow detailed support plans, risk management strategies and skilled guidanceAbout youPrevious Disability Support Worker experience – essentialExperience supporting behaviours of concern and complex support needsConfidence working within a 1:1 support modelStrong understanding of de-escalation and positive behaviour support strategiesA calm, patient and consistent approachAbility to recognise changes in behaviour, communication and emotional regulationClear English communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build genuine rapportCurrent Medication Administration/Medication Management competency and complianceAbility to safely follow medication procedures, documentation requirements and participant support plansAbout usK'S Disability Care provides in-home support and trauma informed care to participants.
