About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced
Cost Accountant
to join our team in Pagewood on a part-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong background in cost analysis, supplier payments and financial reporting, ideally within a supply chain, logistics or freight environment.
As our business continues to expand its supplier network, this role will play an important part in managing supplier payments, analysing freight expenditure and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial systems and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Payment Management
Manage supplier payment processes across an expanding supplier base.
Reconcile supplier invoices, investigate discrepancies and ensure accurate processing.
Maintain accurate supplier records and financial data.
Freight Cost Analysis & Reporting
Conduct weekly freight cost analysis and manage reporting dashboards.
Prepare month-end freight cost analysis and reporting across Opal divisions.
Analyse freight cost increases and decreases, investigate variances and identify trends.
Update and review dashboards to ensure reporting is accurate, consistent and up to date.




Systems Integrity & Support
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial and operational data.
Provide systems support and assist with data administration.
Identify discrepancies and support improvements to reporting and financial processes.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
A recognised accounting qualification and relevant experience in cost accounting, management accounting or a similar role.
Strong SAP experience.
A sound understanding of supply chain operations, logistics and freight costs.
Experience in supplier payment management and invoice reconciliation.
Strong financial analysis, reporting and data administration skills.
Experience with dashboards and month-end reporting.
What's on Offer?
Salary of $100,000 plus superannuation, pro rata for part time hours.
A four-day working week, Monday to Thursday.
Consistent working hours of 9:00am to 3:00pm.
A fully office-based role in Pagewood, NSW.
The opportunity to utilise your accounting expertise across cost control, supplier management and freight analysis.
Note: I've listed the $100,000 salary as pro rata.
If you intend to offer $100,000 plus super as the actual part-time salary for the 24-hour working week, rather than a full-time equivalent, the wording should be adjusted accordingly.
