The Opportunity
ROUSSOS Recruitment is proud to partner with
Jaytex Construction
, a growing national construction business delivering approximately $85 million in annual revenue, with FY27 revenue forecast to exceed $90 million.
Operating across Adelaide, Darwin and Alice Springs, Jaytex Construction has established a strong reputation for delivering projects across government, defence, commercial, industrial and mixed-use residential sectors.
The business is embracing builder-led design solutions, adopting new technologies and delivering an exciting pipeline of projects, including an 11-storey mass timber development in Bowden, an inner suburb of Adelaide.
Jaytex Construction is seeking an experienced
National Pre-Contracts Manager
to lead its pre-construction function and play a pivotal role in shaping the business's future project pipeline, commercial strategy and continued national growth.
This is a senior leadership appointment offering influence well beyond estimating and tender management.
Working directly with the owners and leadership team, you will contribute to project selection, commercial decision-making, client relationships and the long-term strategic direction of the business.
Combining the systems and capabilities of a larger contractor with the agility and accessibility of a privately owned business, Jaytex Construction offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact, influence how the business operates and develop a meaningful stake in its future.
The Role
As National Pre-Contracts Manager, you will lead pre-construction across all regions, overseeing opportunities from initial assessment through to tender submission, negotiation and contract award.
Your responsibilities will include:

Leading pre-construction and tendering activities across South Australia and the Northern Territory
Driving project selection, tender strategy and commercial positioning
Assessing opportunities against business objectives, risk and commercial viability
Overseeing major tenders, estimates, cost plans, construction methodologies and submissions
Identifying commercial risks, value management opportunities and strategies to optimise project outcomes
Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key industry stakeholders
Working closely with owners and Project Directors to strengthen the project pipeline and support strategic growth
Enhancing pre-construction systems, processes and collaboration with project delivery teams
Mentoring and developing team members to strengthen capability and support future growth
This role requires a leader who can think strategically while remaining closely connected to projects, clients and people.
You will bring the confidence to challenge existing approaches, identify opportunities and make commercially sound decisions that support the broader business.
The Like Mind
You will be an accomplished
Pre-Contracts Manager or Estimating Manager
with a strong background in head contractor environments and the commercial capability to contribute at an executive level.
You will bring:
Extensive experience leading pre-construction, estimating or tendering functions within commercial construction
A proven track record delivering medium to large-scale projects, ideally valued between $10M and $80M
Solid commercial acumen, including project risk assessment, tender strategy and contract negotiations
Experience in cost planning, with a Quantity Surveying background highly regarded
Demonstrated capability managing complex tenders from initial assessment through to contract award
Established relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers

The confidence to influence senior leaders, commercial decisions and business strategy
Experience developing teams, improving processes and building organisational capability
Above all, you will be commercially astute, relationship-driven and entrepreneurial in your approach.
Jaytex Construction is looking for someone who wants to contribute to the sustained growth of the business, influence its direction and help build something for the long term, rather than simply manage a function.
Why Jaytex Construction?
This is an opportunity to join a privately owned national contractor where senior leaders have genuine influence, direct access to ownership and the ability to contribute to the business's long-term success.
Jaytex Construction offers:
Executive leadership influence:
Direct involvement in strategic decisions and the future direction of the business
Development investment opportunities:
The potential to invest in developments alongside the business
Executive share scheme:
Opportunities designed to align senior leaders with the business's future success
Direct access to ownership:
An accessible leadership structure where ideas are heard and contributions matter
Career development:
The opportunity to develop people, strengthen teams and build future leaders
Additional flexibility:
Five additional Flexi Days
Competitive remuneration:
An attractive salary, bonus opportunities and staff appreciation initiatives
With more than 45 employees nationally, including 25 in Adelaide, Jaytex Construction continues to grow while maintaining a strong culture of collaboration, integrity, accountability and curiosity.
The team is passionate about continuous improvement, quality project delivery and making a positive contribution to the construction industry and wider community.
With a clear focus on sustainable growth and developing its people, the business is committed to creating meaningful, long-term career opportunities.
For an experienced pre-construction leader looking for greater influence, broader responsibility, a collaborative team environment and the opportunity to share in the future success of a growing national contractor, this is an exciting next step.
