A leading local government organisation is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of key Waste & Resource Recovery projects.
This role has a solid focus on landfill operations, leachate management and environmental compliance, making it ideal for someone with demonstrated experience in the waste, environmental or utilities sectors.
This is a hands‐on contract position where you'll manage projects from initiation through to completion, working closely with operational teams, contractors and technical stakeholders to deliver practical and compliant outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage landfill and waste infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery
Lead projects focused on leachate management, environmental compliance and operational improvement initiatives
Develop project plans, schedules, budgets and risk management strategies
Manage procurement activities and contract administration
Coordinate contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders
Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting




Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
Apply agile project management principles where appropriate
About You:
Demonstrated experience managing landfill, waste, resource recovery or environmental infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of leachate management systems and environmental compliance requirements
Proven project management and contract management experience
Experience managing contractors and external suppliers
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment
Experience working within local government or a highly regulated environment will be highly regarded
Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management or a related discipline

Competitive daily rate of $900 - $1,100 + Super
