+ annualised allowance of $4,052

What we are looking for:
An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Mechanic to join Council's Fleet team.
In this hands‐on role, you will deliver mechanical maintenance and repair services across a diverse fleet of vehicles, trucks and heavy plant equipment.
Working alongside a skilled and supportive team, you will help ensure Council's fleet remains safe, reliable and available to support essential community services.
What your day will look like:
Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on Council vehicles, trucks and plant equipment.
Diagnose faults and identify opportunities to improve fleet performance and reliability.
Carry out workshop and field‐based servicing, repairs and inspections.
Support work planning by ensuring parts, tools and resources are available when required.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, timesheets and service requests using Council systems.
Contribute to safe work practices, continuous improvement initiatives and team outcomes.
What you'll need for success:
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Tradesperson (AQF Level III).
Valid Queensland C Class Driver Licence.
General Construction Induction (White Card).
Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing plant, trucks and heavy equipment.
Sound skills in fitting, welding and machining.
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices.




Ability to use work management systems and technology to complete documentation and service records.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to support apprentices and colleagues
What's nice to have:
HR Driver Licence recognised in Queensland.
Experience working with local government or large fleet operations.
Diploma studies in Engineering or a related field
