Systems Accountant Needed, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, Flexible locations, $122K Plus SuperYour new company An exciting prospect exists for a qualified finance professional to join a major transformation program driving the replacement of core Finance and Billing systems within a respected Victorian organisation.This role is ideal for an experienced System Accountant who can bridge the gap between Finance, Technology and Project teams.
Acting as the Finance Lead for a significant finance systems implementation, you will play a critical role in ensuring business requirements are translated into practical system outcomes while maintaining strong financial controls, reporting integrity and operational readiness throughout the project lifecycle.Your new role Reporting directly to the CFO, you will provide finance leadership and subject matter expertise across a large-scale Finance and Billing system replacement project.Key responsibilities include:Acting as the Finance Lead and key finance representative throughout the projectTranslating finance and billing requirements into system design, configuration and business processesProviding finance assurance across solution design, testing, data migration, cutover and go-live activitiesLeading Finance participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validating test outcomesCoordinating data migration activities, reconciliations, parallel processing and financial control processesSupporting operational readiness, business adoption and knowledge transfer activitiesDeveloping finance procedures, work instructions, training materials and user documentationPartnering with project teams, vendors and stakeholders to resolve issues and influence outcomesProviding recommendations to senior leadership regarding system readiness and successful deploymentSupporting continuous improvement of finance processes,



controls and reporting frameworksWhat you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:CA or CPA qualificationTertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related disciplineExperience as a System Accountant, Finance Systems Accountant or Finance Transformation professionalStrong understanding of financial accounting, management accounting and financial controlsExpertise across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, fixed assets, banking, reconciliations and financial reportingDemonstrated experience supporting ERP implementations, finance system upgrades or digital transformation programsAbility to translate business requirements into system functionality, controls and reporting outcomesStrong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across finance, project and technology teamsAdvanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and experience with enterprise financial systemsHighly regarded experience includes:Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralFinance and billing system replacement projectsPower BI or Microsoft Fabric reporting environmentsUtilities, water, government or other regulated industriesData migration, testing, operational readiness and change adoption activitiesWhat you'll get in return Salary package up to $122,000 + Super12-month fixed term opportunity with long-term career potentialChoice of Werribee, Mitcham or Maffra office locationFlexible and supportive working environmentOpportunity to lead finance outcomes within a major digital transformation programExposure to senior stakeholders and enterprise-wide initiativesnce and sustainable growth.What you need to do now If you're an experienced finance systems professional looking to play a lead role in a significant transformation project, we'd like to hear from you.
