An established Australian energy infrastructure business is looking for a Senior Precinct Project Engineer to join its engineering team, supporting the delivery and operation of complex sustainable utility infrastructure.

The business finances, builds, owns and operates a portfolio of energy and utility assets, including electricity, thermal heating and cooling, recycled water, EV charging and broader precinct infrastructure.

The opportunity

This is a hands-on engineering and project delivery role responsible for leading projects from concept through to completion across operational infrastructure.

You’ll oversee the design, installation, commissioning and documentation of new installations and equipment modifications, with a focus on improving efficiency, capacity, safety and compliance.

You’ll also manage project timelines and budgets, work closely with contractors and operational teams, and provide engineering support across multiple live assets.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead engineering projects from concept through to completion, managing budgets and timelines.
- Design, implement and improve process equipment and systems.
- Provide engineering support to operations teams, including troubleshooting and fault-finding.
- Maintain engineering drawings, documentation, data and equipment records.
- Work closely with operations teams, contractors, suppliers and other external stakeholders.
- Manage contractors and suppliers working across operational sites.




- Support secure project delivery and compliance with relevant legislation, standards, codes and WHS&E; requirements.

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally be an Electrical with at least 5+ years’ experience in a Project Engineer, Applications Engineer or similar position.

Experience across the following would be highly regarded:

- Strong project delivery experience.
- Troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical and thermal systems.
- Exposure to SCADA / BMS systems.
- CAD experience, ideally AutoCAD.
- Experience working with subcontractors and external stakeholders.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organisational capability.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering and operations teams.
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites when required.
