One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage a Application Support Engineers – Multiple Levels (Associate, Mid-Level and Senior)

2. Contract: 12 Monts Initial with possible extension
3. Work Location: Canberra (Onsite) 5 Days a week
4. Eligibility: You must need to have NV2 Security Clearance or above.
5. Tentative Start Date: ASAP
6. Working Hours: 8 hours a day/ 40 hours a week

Overview

These positions offer the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of enterprise applications, platforms and business-critical systems within a complex, secure and technically challenging environment.

Levels:

- Associate / Junior – Foundational ICT support experience, looking to develop technical skills in enterprise application support.
- Mid-Level – Able to independently manage incidents, troubleshoot application issues and support day-to-day enterprise operations.
- Senior – Able to lead complex investigations, provide advanced troubleshooting, drive service improvements and mentor other engineers.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide Level 1, Level 2 and/or Level 3 application and technical support across enterprise systems.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve incidents, service requests and complex application issues.
- Perform application administration, monitoring, maintenance and operational support.
- Support application testing, patching, upgrades, deployments, releases and post-implementation validation.
- Monitor application availability, performance, security and operational health.
- Maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, standard operating procedures and support records.




- Identify recurring issues, undertake root cause analysis and contribute to permanent resolutions.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, cyber security, development and service management teams.
- Support application onboarding, service transitions, lifecycle management and modernisation initiatives.
- Contribute to ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change and release management processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable security, governance and operational requirements.
- For senior positions, lead complex technical investigations, provide technical direction and mentor junior engineers.

Experience:

- Hands-on support and administration of OpenText Service Manager (also called HP Service Manager, HPSM, Micro Focus Service Manager, SMAX or HP ServiceCenter), including configuration, tailoring, upgrades, patching, integrations and troubleshooting the platform itself.
- Experience supporting DSMS (Defence Service Management System) highly regarded.
- Experience in business application support (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics, .NET web applications) in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic and application troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with web applications, databases (SQL), APIs, middleware or integration technologies on Windows and/or Linux.
- Experience supporting application deployments, releases, upgrades and production environments.
