Role: Webmethods Developer

Job Description:

Key responsibilities

- Translate business requirements into integration designs: interface specs, mappings, error handling and non-functional requirements.
- Apply sound integration patterns (API-led, event-driven, pub/sub, batch/file) and reuse existing services where possible.
- Produce transparent design documentation and contribute to architecture and design reviews.
- Develop flow and Java services, adapters, triggers and APIs in webMethods Integration Server and Designer.
- Build and maintain REST/SOAP APIs, B2B/EDI flows and messaging with Universal Messaging or Broker.
- Write unit and integration tests; support SIT, UAT and production cutover.
- Package and deploy with Deployer and CI/CD pipelines across environments.
- Provide L3 support for the integration estate: triage incidents, fix defects, tune performance.
- Improve monitoring, logging and alerting, and reduce technical debt.
- Document and inventory current integrations, dependencies and business rules.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders in the team like product owners, vendors and QA.

Essential skills and experience

- 8+ years in integration development, including 5+ years hands-on with webMethods (Integration Server, Designer, flow and Java services).
- Proven end-to-end delivery: you have designed and built integrations, not only supported them.




- Strong with REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML/XSLT, flat files and JDBC/SAP or other adapters.
- Messaging experience with Universal Messaging or Broker, including publish/subscribe and guaranteed delivery.
- webMethods API Gateway or API Portal experience.
- Deployment and DevOps: Deployer, Git, CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and environment management.
- Solid error handling, logging, monitoring and performance tuning in production.
- Clear communicator who can work directly with business and technical stakeholders.
- Australian working rights and availability to start within 2 weeks.

Desirable skills

- Workato experience (recipes, connectors, Workato certification) or another iPaaS such as MuleSoft, Boomi or Azure Integration Services.
- Hands-on involvement in an integration platform migration.
- Retail or e-commerce integration: POS, order management, inventory, ERP (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, SAP), WMS and supplier EDI.
- webMethods Trading Networks / B2B and EDI standards.
- webMethods.io or cloud-hosted webMethods deployments.
- Software AG / IBM webMethods certification.
- Experience in Agile delivery and with automated integration testing.
