About the role

Randell Street Bakery is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a busy retail setting, working in the heart of Mannum. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the smooth operation of our bakery retail space. Key responsibilities

1. Providing friendly and professional customer service to all visitors, assisting with product inquiries and recommendations

2. Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems

3. Maintaining clean, organised and hygienic retail spaces in accordance with food safety standards

4. Restocking shelves and displays with bakery products and maintaining attractive merchandise presentation

5. Handling cash and other payment methods with accuracy and integrity

6. Supporting the team with general retail duties and responding to customer requests promptly

7. Contributing to a positive team atmosphere and assisting colleagues when required

What we're looking for

1. Previous retail or customer service experience, ideally within a food retail or bakery environment

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping customers

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks

4. Basic numeracy skills and accuracy in handling cash transactions

5. A reliable and punctual approach to work with flexibility to accommodate casual shifts

6. Enthusiasm for working as part of a team and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

7. Willingness to learn and develop new skills within the retail environment
