This is a technical role suited to someone with a background in building construction, facilities maintenance or building services, who has experience coordinating contractors, managing maintenance programs and maintaining building asset information.

You will work across a diverse portfolio of Council facilities, including community centres, aquatic centres, sporting facilities and residential and commercial properties.

This is not a hands-on maintenance role. We are looking for someone who understands building works and can coordinate, inspect, monitor and report on maintenance and capital works projects.

About the Role

Working within the Building Management Services team, you will be responsible for coordinating building maintenance activities and supporting the effective management of Council's building assets.

Your duties will include:

- Coordinating planned and reactive building maintenance across multiple sites.

- Obtaining quotes, engaging contractors and monitoring the quality and progress of works.

- Conducting building inspections and condition assessments to identify maintenance requirements.

- Coordinating capital works, repairs and preventative maintenance programs.

- Maintaining building asset registers, records and maintenance schedules.

- Reviewing asset management plans and assisting with asset audits and data collection.

- Monitoring project costs, contractor variations, invoices and work programs.

- Preparing reports and maintaining accurate records using Excel and relevant asset management systems.

- Ensuring works comply with relevant building codes, safety requirements and Council procedures.

About You

You will have a practical understanding of building construction and maintenance,

combined with strong coordination, documentation and technical skills.

To be successful, you will have:

- Certificate IV in Building and Construction or an equivalent relevant qualification.

- A trade background or substantial experience in building construction, building maintenance or facilities management.

- Experience coordinating building maintenance, contractors, repairs or capital works.

- The ability to conduct building inspections and assess building condition and maintenance requirements.

- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, with experience maintaining asset registers, maintenance records or technical reports.

- Knowledge of building compliance requirements and the National Construction Code (formerly the Building Code of Australia).

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites.

- Excellent communication skills and a current Class C driver's licence.

Experience with asset management systems, preventative maintenance programs, capital works or Local Government facilities will be highly regarded.

The ideal candidate: Someone who understands how buildings are constructed and maintained, can confidently coordinate contractors and works, and is comfortable managing the technical records, asset data and reporting that support an effective maintenance program.

What's on Offer?

- $55.92 per hour + super

- 12-month casual assignment

- Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week

- 9-day fortnight

- Based in Thornleigh

- Pool vehicle available for work-related travel

- Opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of Council facilities
