Job description:

Part implementer, part developer, part AI practitioner. Fully hands-on.

SUNIX builds the practice management software that optometry practices across Australia and New Zealand run their day on. We're now moving those practices from our established platform to SUNIX Vision NEXT Generation, our cloud platform.

We're looking for someone who can take a practice from "this is how we work today" to confidently operating in the cloud - understanding their needs, solving problems and making the transition seamless from start to finish.

This isn't a role where you log a ticket and move on. You'll follow problems the whole way through Customer → Problem → Analysis → Solution → Technology → Delivery → Outcome.

Key Responsibilities

With customers

- Lead cloud implementations from discovery to go-live and beyond: configuration, data migration, training and adoption.
- Get to know how each practice really works and work out whether a problem is a genuine product gap or a configuration, data, training or process issue.

With code





- Write code yourself: smaller enhancements, implementation tooling and automation in Python, Django and JavaScript.
- Dig into application code, data and integrations to diagnose issues, and turn customer needs into requirements our developers can build without guesswork.

With AI

- Use AI as a serious working tool across analysis, coding, documentation and testing.
- Turn what works into repeatable AI-assisted processes for SUNIX, and spot where AI can create real value for us and our customers.

Holding it all together

- Keep several implementations moving at once, coordinating customers, Development and Support so nothing falls through the cracks.

About You

- Experience in implementation, consulting, business analysis, customer success or development, with coding skills.

- Comfortable with Python/Django, JavaScript, SQL, REST APIs and Git.

- Confident using AI to analyse, solve problems, code and improve processes.

- Able to translate technical concepts for customers and customer needs for developers.

- Curious, adaptable and hands-on, with strong ownership and a love of variety.

You don't need to be our most senior developer, or an expert in every technology. Curiosity, learning unfamiliar systems quickly and following problems through to the end matter more.
