Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a local government client to support them in recruiting for a Financial Analyst on a 6-month contract based in Logan Central.

About the role

- Pay rate of $58.06 per hour + super
- 6-month contract through to late April 2027, full time, Monday to Friday
- Sit within the corporate accounting team, supporting the finance business partners
- Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts and management reports for senior leadership and elected members
- Investigate budget variances and provide accurate, timely financial advice
- Support short and long term financial modelling
- Maintain financial reporting systems and processes with a focus on data integrity, internal controls and compliance
- Train internal stakeholders in using financial reports and systems

Preferred Requirements

- Experience as a financial analyst,



management accountant or similar in a medium to large organisation
- Hands-on involvement in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Solid financial modelling and Excel skills
- Ability to explain complex financial information in plain language
- Local government or public sector finance experience highly regarded
- Current C class driver’s licence
- Available to start Monday 26 October

Preferred Qualifications

- Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or business
- CPA or CA membership or eligibility (desirable)
