Store Manager (ANZSCO: 142111 Retail Manager (General))

Full time/Permanent

$80,000 - $85,000 (higher salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and responsibilities:

- Recruit, train, supervise and motivate team members in the assigned departments, promoting efficient operations and strong customer service.
- Lead the retail team in achieving sales objectives while contributing to the store’s role as a trusted local supermarket.
- Set and review pricing and promotional strategies for the assigned departments, considering sales trends, stock levels, margins and local customer needs.
- Recommend and maintain product ranges that meet sales budgets and margin targets while reflecting customer preferences and, where appropriate, supporting local producers and suppliers.
- Plan and coordinate catalogue specials, in-store promotions and events that encourage customers to shop locally.
- Coach team members to assist customers with product choices, provide knowledgeable service and make appropriate complementary product recommendations.
- Coordinate ordering, replenishment and rotation to maintain product availability,



freshness and value while minimising waste and overstocking.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts for the assigned departments.
- Review daily, weekly and monthly sales results, identify trends and take action to support departmental and store profitability.
- Manage the profit and loss performance of the assigned areas, including sales, costs, margins and stock control.
- Assist the Senior Cooperate Managers with annual budget preparation, expenditure planning, variance analysis, and corrective action where results differ from budget.
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
- Ensure departmental operations comply with applicable workplace health and safety, food safety, consumer and other legal requirements.
- Support the store’s positive relationships with its local community, producers and suppliers through day-to-day service and relevant store activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Relevant AQF Diploma and minimum 1-year relevant experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience may replace the requirement of having a qualification.
