Significant project wins mean we are expanding our Melbourne team. We are looking for a well-credentialed and passionate engineer to join our company's office in Melbourne to work on projects both locally and internationally. The position involves the day-to-day work in a team of engineers under the supervision of our local Associate and Regional Manager. The role provides many exciting opportunities to work on interstate and international projects.

The Role

- Designing, planning, organising, and overseeing the construction of façade/structural/civil engineering projects.
- Reviewing, checking, and interpreting all drawings, instructions, and documentation received from either the Client or other authorities.
- Complying with guidelines and regulations, including permits, safety, etc.
- Overseeing and mentoring junior staff and liaising with a variety of stakeholders including builders, architects, subcontractors, other consultants and suppliers.
- Working with an cutting-edge team on high-level engineering projects ranging from local, through interstate, to international.
- Developing structural analysis skills using software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations.
- Undertaking site inspections and preparing inspection reports.
- Preparing high-quality calculation reports, specifications and other related documents.
- Sketching concept designs and preparing developed design drawings.
- Reviewing and marking up architectural and subcontractor drawings and designs.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience





- Tertiary Engineering Qualification in Façade/Structural/Civil Engineering.
- Experience (2+ years) in façade engineering.
- Experience in the design of steel/concrete structures.
- Experience using engineering software, including STRAND7, Robot, THERM, and AutoCAD (or similar software).
- Experience and efficiency in Microsoft Office/365 Suite required.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Australian Standards and Design Codes.
- Understanding of the BCA and Codes related to façade engineering.
- Interpersonal & communication skills, verbal & written.
- Ability to understand 3D arrangements from 2D drawings.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to analyse and design either with or without computer software.
- Professional Engineers Australia (EA) membership eligibility is preferred.
- Working rights in Australia are required.
