At Calix, we're applying innovative science and engineering to solve some of the world's most important industrial and environmental challenges.

Magnesia is a real business with real customers and room to grow. We make magnesium hydroxide and magnesium oxide products that water utilities and industrial customers across APAC and the US rely on to treat water and wastewater. We need a General Manager to take it to the next level: own the P&L;, run our Magnesia and Bacchus Marsh operations and win recent markets.

What the work really looks like

You lead the whole business. Sales, operations, capital and people all sit with you.

You stay close to the work. You'll stay connected to our plants and customers and bring people together around the big decisions.

You build as you go. Calix is growing, and not everything has a process yet, so you'll shape how Magnesia works.

You focus resources where they matter most. Teams are lean and priorities move fast. One day it's a plant issue, the next a customer trial.

What you'll do

You will:

Lead a hands-on team that gets things done, and build the capability Magnesia needs for its next stage.

Run secure, reliable and cost-efficient production across three calciners at Bacchus Marsh and nine manufacturing sites, with a team of around 50.

Find and win new customers, regions and markets for our products.

Make smart cost and capital decisions, from raw material sourcing to recent Magnesia plants close to customers.

Build global partnerships that strengthen supply, channels and capability.

Run the Bacchus Marsh pilot plants as a Group service, to agreed priorities and test plans.

Own the Group Safety and Risk Management Systems,



with each business leader accountable for applying them in their own area.

Success will look like:

Strong safety, environment and quality performance across Magnesia and Bacchus Marsh.

Profitable revenue growth and cash generation.

Better margins and plant utilisation.

About you

You're a commercially astute and practical leader who is as much at home on the plant floor as in the boardroom.

You'll bring:

A track record of running a business and owning the numbers, not just reporting on them.

Sales leadership that has delivered real growth.

Experience leading operations across multiple sites.

Experience running a shared site that serves more than one business or customer.

The credibility to build trusted relationships with customers, partners, investors and Boards, ideally within a listed group.

The judgement to know when to add structure and when to just get on with it.
